Bridge Run


I was going to try and run the bridge next week, but, was invited to run with a friend this evening. So, I decided I would give it a try. We went at 6:30 PM, it was still so hot and humid. I would rather go running after 7:30, during the summer, maybe even 8 or 9 at night! LOL

This is the bridge....beautiful pic from our boat.



I ran the first mile, just to see if I could get up the bridge, I made it in 10 minutes. Not the best, nor the worst time of mine. Then I ran with my friend, as she was doing 3/1 intervals; 3 minute run, 1 min walk.

Weights


I did a workout session of weights. I really need to have more defined muscles and to tone up this body. I still have work to do!

I am trying to work in weight training, with so many other activities, it's not easy!!!

Run at the park...


I live in a hilly area, well, more like inclines. Florida doesn't have many hills. But, I wanted somewhere flat to run today, so, I went to the park. Instead I got wind, which is like running uphill. I made it three miles, but, it was not easy. I think my added weight gain has made it a little harder to run....next challenge will be to lose some weight.

Birthday Boy ♥

Today was such a busy day, but, I knew I had to get in a quick workout to keep up with  this challenge.
Between getting ready for my son's first birthday party and guests arriving, I jumped on the elliptical for this 20 minute session.

 

Workout Challenge #19- Running.

Now, to the best part of today!!! This handsome boy turned ONE ♥


It was so much fun planning his birthday and creating the foods. The theme was One Fish, Two Fish, by Dr. Seuss. Such an easy birthday party to create. Since it was his first birthday, we had no real games, but we had food and decorations to match.


 
It's scary how quickly the time passes, these babies of mine are growing up fast. I've got one that is almost an adult, and soon, I know, because time is not forgiving, I'll have 5 adult children. I am determined to enjoy them, but I know in the end, it will feel like a blink of an eye ♥

Another Run....mango anyone?

Yes, just another run. It was quick, as I was feeling very tired. I would love to sleep 8 hours, but, my cute precious Marlin still wakes twice a night to eat. Randy, my husband, ran with me and it was nice, we were looking at all the mango tress in our neighborhood. Tomorrow, Randy wants me to go ask the neighbors about buying some! I am tempted, mango's are really yummy!

10 miles

On a bike, I was working hard! I have no clue if that is fast enough in a Tri, but, I feel that it is fast for me, lol.

I did 10.23 miles in about 47 minutes.

3 Miles!

I did it, I finally ran 3 miles, again...was it easy, no. It has been hard working back up. Seems my mind just isn't in it, but I know I want it. I know I want to run. I know I want to build a base of 6 miles, even when not training for a half, etc. Maybe I need a new playlist, maybe I need cooler temps, or maybe I need more running partners. I know I enjoy running with my husband, but, we can't always go together. But, let me say, I am proud that I finally ran 3 miles...I can start my weekly training next week :)

Three Weeks Down, Two to go...

This past week went so much better, then week two. Once this June challenge is over I am going to try to keep the 5 workouts a week, ( will need it for the Tri workouts, along with the Marathon training ) sometimes 4. I also need to work on my eating again. I know how to eat right, it's just about making better choices. Even though I am working out, I have gained five pounds, and that's a lot on shorties!

Today, I practiced swimming in my moms pool. Of course, I have the wrong goggles, lol, and swim attire, but, I am just getting my feet wet; trying this out. The kids also got in the water and played.







After the swim, and dinner, we went on a short family walk.



Today, I worked out for 47 minutes; 20 minutes of continuous swimming and 27 minutes walking.

Triathlon, really....


Okay, I used to swim on and off, I can ride a bike, and recently I became a runner. I am thinking, sure I could race in a triathlon. I have started looking at workout plans, even have friends who are also training....but really, what does it take to do this? A LOT, I found out this evening! 

I haven't even done all these activities at once. ( It's called a brick workout ) I thought after tonight's bike I would try to run! LOL. Sure, not there yet...of course. I need 8-12 weeks to train, maybe longer! Once I figure out my training for the Tri and Marathon, I'll post it.

I rode 8.40 miles in 40 minutes, then decided to run. I was hoping for a mile run, but, I could only get my body and mind to do a half a mile. I am looking at a Sprint Tri; usually a .25 mile swim, 10-12 mile bike ride,  & 3.1 mile run. I've got a lot of work to do!

Such an exciting morning. Its been a long time since I stopped the ice cream truck, and I mean years!
I was like what the heck, come on kids. They were so excited, because they know I don't do this very often. I liked breaking the rules...today.

Halfway there....

I am loving this challenge, from AnotherMotherRunner, it has really kept me committed to working out. I am at the halfway point, thirteen workouts done!

This evening I ran 2 miles again, still building, next week I will go to three miles.

Biking...

Thankfully, Randy fixed my bike. I had been riding my bike, up until a month ago. The front tire, rim, was wobbling and not safe, but now it's all good! I am also thinking/wanting to try a triathlon or maybe just a duathlon, because, I am not big on swimming in open water! lol.

This evening, my youngest son came along with me. Marlin enjoyed half the ride, then fell asleep. The way he fell asleep had me concerned, so, I stopped to wake him to be more upright and that upset him. Overall it was a good ride, and he did well. :)






I rode for 39 minutes, 7.08 miles.

Gonna be a good week...

I can feel it. I am so happy to be running again. But, I must admit, not running for three months, it has been hard to even run 2 miles. Maybe it's the heat too, cause man it is hot & humid!

This evening, Randy ran with me, well, he ran in front of me and was a tad faster. But, at least I have him to run with at times. We ran 2 miles, in about 19 minutes. My goal was to be able to run 3 miles by the end of June, I think that is possible.

Finally, Week Two is Done!

It was a hard week, getting the workouts in, but, I did it! YAY!!!
This last workout was a family walk. The challenge is just to move, so I counted this walk.
I forgot to take a picture once the walk was over, so, I had to go to the logs in my phone and take a picture there.

Seventeen


Today, Shayla my oldest, first baby, is 17!!! It's hard to believe in one year, she will be an adult, officially! lol. It really does seem like we just took this photo, she was 6 months old here, her first Christmas.




 This evening we celebrated with dinner out, at Cheddars.  Shayla also enjoyed a spa day; day & night with her best friend, new clothes, and three new books.





A daughter is just a little girl who grows up to be a friend.
